Edit member records as you hold personal conversations in the Inbox

Can I bulk edit member field data in the inbox?

No. The inbox is best for modifying individual member records as you hold one-on-one conversations. To bulk edit member field data, import a CSV.

To do things like bulk assign conversations, or bulk resolve conversations, use the bulk selector and click Bulk Actions.

Who can edit Member data?

  • Admins can edit member data for any member. 
  • Organizers can edit Member data for members they have been granted access to via Inbox Member Access. Edit and view permissions are based on the organizer’s Field and Group Permissions Settings.
Note: Organizers cannot view or edit Inbox Member Access groups.

What member data can I edit in the Inbox?

Edit a member's subscription status, member fields, and groups via the Inbox. Organizers may have restricted permissions to view and edit data based on their configured permissions in Managed Users.

How to edit Member fields via the Inbox
  1. Go to the Inbox.
  2. Click into the member conversation whose data you’d like to edit.
  3. Click View More.
  4. Click Member fields and select the field you’d like to edit.
  5. Hit Enter.
How to add a Member to a Group via the Inbox
  1. Go to the Inbox.
  2. Click into the member conversation whose data you’d like to edit.
  3. Click View More.
  4. Select Groups.
  5. Click +Add to Group.
  6. Select the group you’d like to add the member to.
  7. Click Add to Group.

How to remove a Member from a Group via the Inbox
  1. Go to the Inbox.
  2. Click into the member conversation whose data you’d like to edit.
  3. Click View More.
  4. Select Groups.
  5. Click x next to the group you’d like to remove the member from.

Troubleshoot Member Data Editing

→ I can't edit a specific member field

  • The member field may not be editable, such as timezone or carrier.
  • You may not have permission to edit the field. If you are an organizer, contact your admin.

→I can't find a specific group via the Groups dropdown.

  • You may not have permission to add the member to the group. If you are an organizer, contact your admin.
  • The group may be an Inbox Member Access group. To add members to an Inbox Member Access Group, go to the Members list.
